Our Team

Meg McConnell, Founder and Director

Meg’s journey with Haiti began in 2009, when she was a high school student. What started as a single trip soon grew into a lifelong commitment, driven by a deep connection to the Haitian communities she has supported over the years and to those she has yet to meet. Fueled by her love for Haiti, Meg is committed to creating pathways that help individuals and families grow, thrive, and build brighter futures. She believes that lasting impact begins with authentic human connection and the relationships built along the way. Meg also supports the community where she was raised by working in children’s healthcare, continuing her commitment to care and connection at home.

He believes that helping Haiti is a step toward helping the world move forward. Yaya’s mission is to be a voice for the voiceless.

Dr. Stephanie Mokrycke, Board Member

Steph first visited Haiti as a high school student in 2008. She was deeply moved by the kindness, generosity and joy of the Haitian people whom she met there. Her experience in Haiti inspired her to chose a career in health care as a young adult. She currently works in an urban emergency department in Vancouver, British Columbia, as well as several rural and remote locations across Canada. She is grateful to be part of the team committed to supporting a brighter future for the people of Haiti.
